Premiere for two training occupations

On 01.08.2019 a new period of life began for 10 young people. They start their formation in seven different training occupations at Standard Metallwerke in Werl, Germany.

Vivien Micor, Malin Bömmelburg and Konrad Purwin will be trained as industrial clerks. André Verschaeren and Patrick Henszel will complete their formation as machine and plant operators. Aron Matheis will learn the profession of an industrial mechanic, Justin Hof will be trained as a specialist for system integration and Thimon Krüger is a prospective apprentice toolmaker. For the first time, the training occupation of the warehouse specialist will be introduced. Timo Rummenhöller will have the chance to complete this two-year formation.  This year there is also a premiere for the training occupation as technical product designer. Laura Wizky will be trained for the first time in the dual system i.e. mechanical engineering studies will be included.

Standard Metallwerke GmbH employs around 400 employees, including 26 apprentices in 10 different training occupations – a new record for the company.

On the first working day various activities were planned to get to know the company, the employees and the trainees. After the reception by the management, the workers’ council as well as the youth and trainee representatives and the responsible trainers, the trainees were informed about the process of their formation. Furthermore they have gained a first impression of the company during a factory tour. In addition, a common breakfast was scheduled to get in touch with the fellow trainees and to exchange their first experiences. Afterwards, the young people were allowed to get a taste of their new jobs.

During the next 2 – 3 ½ years the trainees can expect an informative, comprehensive and varied formation. Depending on the job they will get to know the special fields, departments and business processes.

Standard Metallwerke is now looking for young trainees in 2020. Applications for the various training occupations (industrial clerks, machine and plant operators, electronic technicians for industrial engineering, industrial mechanics and warehouse specialists) will be accepted with pleasure from now until the end of the application deadline (30.09.2019).
